3 months, 7 countries: France, Ghana-Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bali

I first met Erin Douglas while studying Ayurveda at Kerala Ayurveda Academy in Los Angeles, CA. Together we explored some of life’s questions through the lens of health and longevity. Since then she has continued on her journey as a mover through her charitable works and generosity.

Erin is the founder of Dinner & Deeds. This organization helps to unite worthy causes with the people willing to give and participate. Her passion and light have enabled many individuals to come together as one generous and effective force.

I was fortunate enough to witness this awesome power first-hand. Erin invited me to help out with a school garden project in East LA. I figured a half-day spent shoveling and sweating would be a great way to get in some movement for a greater movement; children learning about and consuming real food. I was amazed at her ability to round up so many of us who would have otherwise probably have either slept in on that Saturday or spent our calories in the gym rather than on the work site.

Erin is an entire movement unto herself. She is an inspiration to all and a crowned Queen Mother to at least one community in Ghana. Her love continues to spread to all corners of the world as she continues on her journey. Here are some of the great pictures she took. Keep up with her on her blog here.

Traditional Indian dishes are full of medicinal herbs and spices.

Quality contact time with the bare ground may be slightly more rough on the sole at first, but extremely soothing to the soul.
