Mini-movers

Mini-movers

With grandma and grandpa behind them, brother and sister skip their way to breakfast. I love seeing my family in motion. It is so important to normalize this sort of activity for children. Though we may consider it to be a unique occasion to choose to walk somewhere rather than drive, they have no context for what is considered, “normal behavior”. If they perceive physical activity to be a usual occurrence, it will be easy for them to remain active later in life. If physical activity is something they rarely see adults engage in, exercise becomes a task rather than just something adults do. (Photo credit: Tom Campbell)
